“While the drink’s origins are unknown, the most widely reported account is that it was invented in Florence, Italy in 1919, at Caffè Casoni, ex Caffè Giacosa, now called Caffè Cavalli. Count Camillo Negroni invented it by asking the bartender, Fosco Scarselli, to strengthen his favorite cocktail, the Americano, by adding gin rather than the normal soda water.” -Wikipedia
Pretty cool, eh? The cocktail is amazing no matter who invented it and a personal favorite, though most of my friends still favor beer and wine but what do they know. Anyway, here’s the recipe and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
- 1 part (30ml) Gin
- 1 part (30ml) Martini Rosso, vermouth
- 1 part (30ml) Campari
